HTML5, course, Big Data event and more

Bases de datos

A new entrance about courses, events, and … more!

First of all, you need to check HTML5 for education in this link: http://www.ite.educacion.es/formacion/materiales/182/cd/indice.htm. It’s a kind of HTML manual, very extensive, and a good link to have close if you are newbie to web programming.

Another good reommendation is Introduction to Databases. , a coursera.org course, very popular, well organized and … at your pace. I like the videos, all very well explained. The weak point is that you need to be constant on the course because there is no time to finish. Another issue is that some links are broken, so go to the forum to get the correc links to the materials.

Also, I received an email telling me about an update on the course Introduction to Computer Science, on Udacity, and the new challenge is to build you own social network.

Data science

Moving to Coursera.org, I must recommend a 9 course series about Data Science (all information is here). The road is far away, but these course are really good, based on R programming language, and as you read before, it’s not my favorite.

Big Data Week Madrid

Next week there is a Big Data Week Madrid event, and you have all information here: (the website is not available).

Builde your own recommendation engine

If you have time … maybe you could be interested in builder your own recommendation engine: . It’s a NetFix project, now open source, so …. it’s very interesting. The code for Hadoop y Pig is available on GitHub.

And .. that’s all … for the moment!
